// process — how a project runs
No mystery, no slideware.
The same five moves, every time. You always know where the project stands, because from week one you are holding it in your hands.
-
Scope call
Thirty to sixty minutes on what you're making, who it's for, and what done looks like. Free, and useful even if we never work together. Your wizard submission is the agenda.
-
Fixed proposal
A written scope with a fixed price and a committed timeline — what's in, what's out, what each milestone delivers. The wizard's rough estimate becomes a number you can plan around.
-
Weekly builds
Every week you get a build you can open on your own device — not screenshots, not decks. Feedback lands while it's cheap to act on.
-
Launch
Store listings, review cycles, release checklists — we've shipped our own products through Google Play and Steam onboarding, and we carry yours through the same gates.
-
Run (optional)
Hosting, monitoring, moderation and support as a monthly retainer — the studio that built it keeps it alive. Or we hand over cleanly: code, infrastructure, documentation, all yours either way.
// what it costs
Builds start around A$16,000; most projects land between A$20,000 and A$60,000 depending on platforms and features, and every build includes a 30-day defect warranty. After launch it's your call: a clean one-off handover, a keep-it-alive plan from A$900/month (maintenance, patches, support — priced at roughly 1.5% of the build per month), or keep-alive plus updates — where every update is scoped and quoted before work starts, so variable work is never hidden inside a flat fee. Managed marketing is available too: a launch campaign at A$3,500, or ongoing campaign management from A$900/month — with the ad budget always yours, paid directly to the ad platforms, never to us. The project wizard prices all of this live as you choose.
Typical build timelines run six to fourteen weeks; larger builds run longer — a six-figure project is realistically four to six months including testing and launch, and we'd rather say so up front than surprise you in month three. Payment is staged against milestones — a deposit to book the studio, the rest as agreed deliverables land.
// questions we always get
Who owns the code and the IP?
You do, outright, on final payment — source code, designs, infrastructure configuration, the lot. No licences back to us, no lock-in.
Who actually does the work?
The studio itself. Nothing is contracted out — the people on the scope call are the people writing the code. That's the whole point of hiring a small senior studio.
Will you sign an NDA?
Happily, before you tell us anything sensitive. Send yours or ask for our mutual template.
Can you take over an existing codebase?
Yes — we start with a paid audit (a week, fixed price) so the takeover quote is based on what's actually in there, not optimism.
What do you need from us?
A decision-maker who can answer questions within a couple of days, and honesty about budget and deadlines. Assets like brand guidelines or existing designs help but aren't required — identity work is one of our services.
What happens after launch?
Your choice: a clean handover with documentation, or a monthly retainer where we host, monitor, moderate and support it. Freetalk — our own product — runs on exactly that second model, so you can judge the operator before hiring it.
What do you not take on?
Anything we can't do end to end to our own standard — and anything that needs a 40-person agency. If that's your project, we'll say so on the first call and point you somewhere honest.
